The SRPC Women's Auxiliary is committed to serving our Sport and our Community. We are affectionately known as, The Slidell Hennies.  Our purpose is to provide assistance to the Slidell Racing Pigeon Club members in the areas of Fund Raisers, Hospitality, Charitable Works, Sales, and Special Events.  We are also active in offering assistance to other clubs, combines, and pigeon related organizations when called upon.  Our goal is to promote and maintain a positive image of our club and our sport by providing opportunities to include family in all functions, to support our husbands in their hobby, and to build friendships with other women in the sport.

Our Club Officers

PRESIDENT

The President shall preside over all regular or special meetings. She is the spokesperson for the SRPC Women's Auxiliary and will meet with the public should the need arise.

Maureen (Mo) Williams

Maureen Williams better known as "Mo" is an active member of the Slidell Racing Pigeon Club. She serves as the Club Secretary and The Women's Auxiliary President. She may also be the first lady flyer in the Slidell Racing Pigeon Club. She and her husband Byron fly from the same loft but manage their own teams. Mo was not always a fan of the pigeons. In fact, for many years she resented them. In 2005 after the tragic loss of Byron's winning family of birds, she had a change of heart and decided to partner with her husband.  Together, they built a loft and a new racing family. Most of all they now share a passion for the same sport. Now she is active in promoting the sport as well as the club.  Mo knows the highs and lows of the pigeon sport and what its like to be a pigeon man's wife. With her experience and leadership ability it was unanimous that she be the President Hennie.

VICE-PRESIDENT

The Vice-President heads up special committees as appointed by the President. She shall preside over all meetings in the absence of the President.

Diane Graffia
Diane Graffia and her husband Joe are business owners and now they have pretty much become partners in the sport. Diane helps Joe with the pigeons as well as providing a place for our club to meet for shipping and bang. She heads up the hospitality functions along with the help of the other Hennies. She has always been Mo's right hand, but prefers to be in the background. Diane can get the job done and this is why she is The Vice-President.

SECRETARY

The Secretary shall issue notice of meetings to all members of the SRPC Women's Auxiliary at least one week in advance. The Secretary will keep the minutes. She is also responsible for any correspondence, flyers, booklets, etc. that may be needed for functions.

Laura Schwehm

Laura Schwehm's story is "one for the birds".  She states, "My Dad raced pigeons back in the 60's, and that's how I met Ronnie.  He used to come over to see my Dad and the birds, but in 1963 he began seeing more than the birds.  I was 13 and he was 16, and it was love at first sight.  It was the birds that brought us together 45 years ago and hopefully will keep us together for many more years."

Laura retired from the University of New Orleans after 33 years of service and now dedicates herself to spending time with her family.  She and Ronnie have two beautiful daughters, five wonderful grandchildren, and a loft full of pigeons.  Who could ask for more!  With all of heart and experience...this makes Laura a great secretary.

TREASURER
The Treasurer is responsible for the financial assets of the SRPC Women's Auxiliary. She will in charge of any money related activities. The Treasurer will maintain a separate fund for ladies activities. The Treasurer will submit a financial accounting to the membership quarterly or as directed by the President. These funds will be reported to the SRPC Treasurer.
