Thank you for visiting The Slidell
Racing Pigeon Club Website!
Tough birds can handle the heat and the
head winds and the Slidell Club members proved to be no different.
Slidell club members suffered a setback due to Hurricane Katrina in
2005. But, by pulling together the Slidell club has become one of
the most recognized clubs in the State of Louisiana and one of the
fastest growing. Our club also is part of the Greater New Orleans
Combine.
We have an outstanding group of members
and club officers that really make things happen. Club functions are
much anticipated events. We are always trying to bring Flyers
together for new ideas and social functions. It is very important
that we all do our part to preserve this great sport by preserving
its history, promoting it in a positive way, including our families,
and passing it on to the future generation. This is the heart of our
club.
The passion of this club is to
race!!! With growth, the level of competition has increased!!!
Because of the expanse of our flyer's locations in the club and
combine, it is a real attraction for flyer's who really want to
compete. At a club level...we average 12-15 competing lofts and at a
combine level we average 36-40 lofts. Each year this number
increases.
Our club prays that we never go through
a molting season with our members because we would like to keep all
of our feathers...But we always have a place for new birds. If you
live in our area, we'd love for you to come fly with us!
